Protection keeps stopping on its own

Some manufacturers kill background services aggressively. In CamLock, open Settings > Permissions and access, tap Open on the Battery row, pick CamLock in Android's list and turn optimisation off. On Samsung and Xiaomi, also allow CamLock to run unrestricted in its app battery settings. CamLock can report an unexpected stop when it next runs. Alert delivery depends on Android and notification access; it cannot send an immediate alert while force-stopped.

My child is not recognised

Add more face samples from a second angle and in different light: open the child, then "Add more face samples". If that does not help, move the sensitivity preset to lenient.

The phone locks for the wrong person

Similar faces, lighting and camera angle can cause mistaken matches. Move the sensitivity preset to strict, and re-enrol the affected child with clear, well-lit samples.

It does not lock after a reboot

Android does not allow a camera service to start in the background. CamLock posts a reminder after a reboot. Tap it and authenticate with your biometric; protection can restart once the required permissions and access are ready.

I cannot get into the app

CamLock requires a strong biometric, with no PIN fallback. If your fingerprint is not recognised, or none is enrolled, enrol one in Android Settings and reopen the app.

Delete app data and exported files

Settings has "Delete all data" to stop protection and clear saved profiles, face templates, history and settings when deletion finishes successfully. Uninstalling removes app-private data. Removing just one child keeps older history; use "Delete history" to clear it. Exported CSVs, copies in cloud storage, original gallery photos and support emails remain separate. Delete those at their destination, or contact us about correspondence we hold.

History exports

Android's file picker lets you choose where a CSV is saved, including available cloud providers. The file can contain child names and activity details and is not encrypted by CamLock. Keep it private and share only the rows needed for your purpose.
